Natural Lip Filler in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro

Lip filler is one of the most requested procedures — and one of the most feared. Almost every patient arrives saying the same thing: "I don’t want duck lips." Rightly so. The overfilled look is not an inevitable consequence of the procedure; it is a consequence of poor indication and excess product. When anatomy is respected, the result is a hydrated, well-defined mouth — that still looks like yours.

What is lip filler?

The procedure uses hyaluronic acid — a biocompatible, absorbable substance naturally present in the body — to treat lip contour, volume, hydration and small asymmetries.

More than "augmenting", well-executed lip filler works on proportion: the relationship between upper and lower lip, the Cupid’s bow, the corners of the mouth (which tend to droop with time) and mucosal hydration.

In many cases the desired result requires definition, not volume. That distinction is made at the assessment, lip by lip.

Who is lip filler for?

  • Lips that lost volume or definition over time.
  • Asymmetries that bother you when smiling or speaking.
  • Drooping mouth corners that convey a tired or sad expression.
  • Those who want hydration and glow without a noticeable size change.
  • Correction of previous artificial-looking filler.

How the treatment works

  1. Assessment and design

Your lip proportions are analyzed at rest and in movement (smiling, speaking). The plan defines where to treat — and, equally important, where not to.

  2. Application

With topical anesthetic (and nerve block when indicated), the application takes around 30 to 40 minutes, following the design defined at the assessment — not a standard template.

  3. Review

The final result is evaluated after the product settles, at a scheduled follow-up. Small adjustments, when needed, happen at this stage.

Results and how long they last

Defined, hydrated lips in proportion with your face. The commitment is to naturalness: you should be the one who notices — not strangers passing you on the street.

Average duration is 9 to 12 months, varying with metabolism and the treated area. Constant lip movement tends to speed up absorption — in some cases maintenance is indicated earlier.

Swelling in the first 48–72 hours is common. The final look appears after that period.

Aftercare

  • Avoid intense exercise and excessive heat (sauna, direct sun) for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Do not massage or press the lips in the first few days.
  • Avoid makeup on the area for the first 12 hours.
  • Keep daily lip hydration and protection.

Frequently asked questions about lip filler

Does lip filler look natural?

It can and should. Artificial results come from excess product or ignoring the anatomy. We work with careful assessment, adequate amounts and respect for your proportions — naturalness is the principle of the practice.

How long does lip filler last?

On average 9 to 12 months, but it varies: metabolism and natural lip movement play a role. In some cases maintenance is indicated a little earlier.

What if I don’t like the result?

Hyaluronic acid is absorbable — and, in specific situations, can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase). That is one reason to choose this material. The conservative design of the application exists precisely so you never come close to that situation.
